JOHNNIE WALKER PETITION HITS 10,000 SIGNATURES.

JOHNNIE WALKER PETITION HITS 10,000 SIGNATURES.

The Johnnie Walker online petition – initiated by Kilmarnock & Loudoun SNP MSP Willie Coffey – has burst through the 10,000 mark today with no let up in the number of people signing it. Mr Coffey, who launched the petition at an all party launch with Kilmarnock Football Club, said: "The response to the petition has been incredible. It gives local people and now people all over the world that chance to tell Diageo what they think of the decision to close Johnnie Walker in Kilmarnock after 189 years. "I have been moved by the expressions of support for Kilmarnock from as far afield as South Africa and Canada. "We have had lots of messages from the USA, Australia, Canada, France. "The message that Diageo seems to have forgotten is that customers across the world DO value Johnnie Walker's close connection with Kilmarnock. “They may have lost sight of the value of this but an increasing number of customers across the world are giving Diageo the message - keep Johnnie Walker in Kilmarnock."
