POLLING SHOWS GENERAL ELECTION A TWO HORSE RACE.

POLLING SHOWS GENERAL ELECTION A TWO HORSE RACE.

Welcoming the Scotsman/ComRes poll analysis published today (Monday) SNP Westminster leader and party Business Convener Angus Robertson MP said:

“This is an excellent survey, showing that the General Election in Scotland is a two-horse race, and is currently neck-and-neck between the SNP and Labour.

“Indeed, if you combine the published figures of all the polls and polling organisations over June and July – with a much bigger sample of over 3,500 – the SNP move ahead at 31%, compared to 30% for Labour, 17% for the Tories, and 15% for the Lib Dems.

“As well as winning the Holyrood and European elections in Scotland, these figures show that the SNP can also win a UK general election in Scotland, and return a block of SNP MPs to protect and promote Scottish interests at Westminster.

“In the last real poll in Scotland, the European election, the SNP beat Labour and won in 22 of Scotland’s 32 local authority areas – which would translate into 27 Westminster seats.
