SNP TRIBUTE TO ERNEST LEVY (R.I.P)

SNP TRIBUTE TO ERNEST LEVY (R.I.P)

The SNP has paid tribute to the Ernest Levy OBE following his death aged 84. Mr Levy, a survivor of the Holocaust, moved to Scotland from Hungary in 1961.

He was cantor at Giffnock and Newlands Synagogue and wrote and gave educational talks on his experiences of the Nazi concentration camps.
SNP West of Scotland MSP Stewart Maxwell said:

“Ernest Levy was a remarkable and inspiring man – someone held in great affection by all who knew him.

He will be remembered of course for his educational work, but also as a man of great faith and decency. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and many friends at this sad time.”
