TORY LEADERS SHOULD APOLOGISE TO FIRST MINISTER

TORY LEADERS SHOULD APOLOGISE TO FIRST MINISTER

Commenting on the report that Tory MSP John Lamont is standing for the Westminster seat of Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk and will keep his Scottish Parliamentary seat until the next election, SNP MSP Alasdair Allan said:

“This is utterly hypocritical from the Tories. At no time in 2007 did John Lamont say he was seeking a dual mandate at Westminster unlike Alex Salmond in both 2005 and 2007.

“And while Alex must be the only parliamentarian ever to establish a Trust Fund and give income away to charity, the Tories will forever be known as the party of moats, duck islands, tennis courts, chandeliers and flipping on the public purse.

“After all their spurious and hypocritical misrepresentations of the First Minister both Annabel Goldie and David Cameron should apologise to him in light of John Lamont’s candidacy.”
