JOBS SAVED AT CALL CENTRE COMPANY

The SNP MSP for Falkirk West, Michael Matheson, has welcomed the news that the employees threatened with redundancy at Telecom Services Centre (TSC) in Larbert near Falkirk have now been told their jobs are safe.

Previously their major client T-Mobile announced it was moving work to the Philippines which put 300 jobs at risk. Now a new deal has been secured to provide support to broadcaster Sky secur ing jobs at the call centre.

Mr Matheson, who took part in talks with TSC and the Scottish Government agency Scottish Development International, following the T-Mobile announcement said:

"This is great news for the employees at the TSC site in Larbert. In these difficult economic times it is particularly heartening news and I am pleased that the Scottish Development International played a part in securing this contract.

"This Sky contract will help provide the employees with job security whilst also ensuring the long-term future of TSC in the area.

“The contract itself shows that Sky thinks the staff at TSC have what it takes to offer the services they require.”
