YOUGOV POLL SAMPLE SHOWS CONSISTENT SNP WESTMINSTER LEAD.
ELECTION A CLEAR TWO HORSE RACE BETWEEN SNP AND LABOUR.
The Scottish sample of the latest YouGov opinion poll from the Daily Telegraph shows that the SNP is maintaining a consistent lead over Labour in voting intentions for the Westminster Parliament with a 4% lead over Labour.
The poll – which has a Scottish sample of 221 people – puts the SNP on 32% to 28% for Labour. This is consistent with the recent YouGov poll by the Sunday Times which had the SNP leading Labour by 31% to 28%.
Commenting on the figures, SNP MSP and Minister for Parliament Bruce Crawford said:
“These results are a very positive indication for the SNP with a lead in Westminster voting intentions. They may be small but they are significant. They clearly indicate what we all know – that the coming Westminster election is a two-horse race between the SNP and Labour.
“This poll shows people like what they get from the SNP – in local communities and across Scotland – and they like what the SNP Government is doing by freezing council tax and investing more to help the construction sector.
“In these tough times that is what people want, and they are repaying the SNP with ever growing levels of support both locally and nationally.”
