SNP WELCOME CONCORDAT COMMITMENT

The leader of the SNP Group on COSLA Cllr Derek MacKay (Renfrewshire)
today welcomed the unanimous decision of Scotland’s Councils to renew the
historic concordat between the Scottish Government and COSLA.

Local Authorities also reaffirmed their commitment to work with the
Scottish Government to reduce class sizes.

Speaking after the meeting Cllr MacKay said;

“I warmly welcome the unanimous decision of COSLA to renew the historic
concordat with the Scottish Government.

“The Convention today agreed to “renew, refresh and refocus” our efforts
with Government on the outcomes agreed in the concordat.

“COSLA today recognised that we all need to do more to achieve lower class
sizes and agreed that working together local authorities, COSLA and the
Government will re-invigorate our efforts to cut class sizes in accordance
with the concordat.”
