LABOUR LOSE MORAL COMPASS OVER MCKINNON CASE.

LABOUR LOSE MORAL COMPASS OVER MCKINNON CASE.

Speaking following urgent questions in the House of Commons today (Tuesday) on the extradition of Gary McKinnon to the United States, SNP Home Affairs spokesperson Pete Wishart MP described the Labour Government’s failure to halt the extradition as appalling.

Mr Wishart said:

“For the government that bent over backwards to stop the extradition of General Pinochet to wash their hands of Gary McKinnon is just appalling, and shows just how out of touch Labour have become.

“Over the last year Downing Street has tried to oppose the residency rights of Gurkha veterans, is challenging compensation payments awarded to soldiers wounded serving in Afghanistan, and is now set on extraditing a very vulnerable man. This is not what the extradition system is supposed to do. Labour have irretrievably lost their moral compass.”
