MSP’s JOY AT RELEASE OF FLORENCE AND PRECIOUS MHANGO

MSP’s JOY AT RELEASE OF FLORENCE AND PRECIOUS MHANGO
Glasgow SNP MSP Anne McLaughlin, who has been campaigning for the release of Florence and Precious Mhango from detention by the UK Border Agency, has welcomed news that they have been released from Yarl’s Wood detention centre.
Florence Mhango and her 10 year old daughter Precious were first taken into custody at Dungavel in November before being transferred to Yarl’s Wood. Ms McLaughlin has learnt today that they have both been released and allowed to return to Glasgow.
Commenting Ms McLaughlin said:
“I am overjoyed to hear from Florence that her and Precious have been released and are on their way back to Glasgow.
“I am still waiting to hear how and why they have been released and hope that their case will be dealt with more favourably now.
“This release is testament to the united campaign led by their friends and neighbours in Cranhill which put forward a positive and repeated message for why Florence and Precious should be released.”
