RESPONSIBILITY LIES WITH “CULPABILITY BROWN” Commenting on the increasing civil war within Gordon Brown’s Government and the Labour party over responsibility for smear emails, briefings against ministers and the role of UK Education Secretary Ed Balls in Number 10 SNP MP Angus MacNeil said; “These latest accusations reveal an unseemly culture at the heart of Brown’s Labour party. “Culpability Brown cannot escape responsibility for the increasingly bitter actions of his lieutenants. “The machinations of the Brown Government and Labour’s upper echelons have returned Westminster politics to the sleaze and scandal of the dark days of John Major. “In a time of economic difficulty Labour and the UK Government should be concentrating on working for economic recovery, not Westminster infighting and political game playing. “The SNP has what it takes to deliver a strong package to help Scotland out of recession, it seems all Labour can deliver is more spin and smear.”
