IRAQ - A TALE OF TWO INQUIRIES.

IRAQ - A TALE OF TWO INQUIRIES.

SNP ACT SWIFTLY ON PROCEDURES WHILST LABOUR STALLS ON IRAQ

SCOTTISH LABOUR'S MORAL COMPASS IN SERIOUS QUESTION

Commenting on the comments by Labour MSP Michael McMahon in response
to the First Minister's announcement of an inquiry under the new
Ministerial Code, SNP MSP Alex Neil said:

"This breathtaking hypocrisy from Labour. If Michael McMahon wants
inquiries into politicians misleading parliament he should be
supporting an independent inquiry into the circumstances that took us
into the quagmire of Iraq.

"It is the ultimate irony that Labour want inquiries on Parliamentary
procedures when they have failed to set up an inquiry into the
misleading circumstances that took us to war in Iraq.

"Have they lost leave of their senses? They stall and prevaricate
about the tragedy that is Iraq but seem eager to have inquiries about
issues they admit are 'incidental'.

"What sort of moral compass do they have as a party? No wonder people
can't believe a word they say after Iraq."
