LIB DEMS BUCKLE UNDER BUDGET PRESSURE.

LIB DEMS BUCKLE UNDER BUDGET PRESSURE.

SNP MSP Keith Brown tonight welcomed the Liberal Democrats decision to abandon political games and join the budget process.

Following Tavish Scott’s statement on BBC Scotland that the Lib Dems “made the assumption that the Greens would ultimately vote for the budget” Ochil MSP Keith Brown said;

“The Lib Dem position was pure gamesmanship.

“As they like Labour desperately try to climb back into the budget discussions they have admitted putting political calculations before people’s jobs.

"No party in this parliament can afford to put party politics before people’s jobs and this conversion to practical politics is long overdue.

“The Lib Dems have joined Labour in realising the error of their ways and have caved in to the demands from across Scotland for Parliament to pass a budget rather than play political games.”
