PRIME MINISTER GORDON BROWN NOW A 'LABOUR LIABILITY' SAYS KEN LIVINGSTONE

PRIME MINISTER GORDON BROWN NOW A 'LABOUR LIABILITY' SAYS KEN LIVINGSTONE.

Former Labour London Mayor Ken Livingstone has just admitted that Gordon Brown is a liability. In an interview with the Evening Standard Livingstone said; ""I was very critical of the first two years. The passage of time has shown me to be right."

In 1998 Ken Livingstone accused Gordon Brown of "economic misjudgments", ""subservience to the City" and said "Quite clearly, Gordon is not on top of macro-economic policy."

Responding to Mr Livingstone's comments SNP MSP Linda Fabiani - a member of the Scottish Parliament's Finance Committee - said;

"This finally bursts the bubble on Gordon Brown and exposes Labour's real attitude to the Prime Minister.

"Labour know Brown is a liability and the discontent is growing in Labour ranks as Gordon Brown's recession bites.

"Ken Livingstone agrees with the SNP that the financial mess and the banking meltdown stem as much from Brown's mismanagement of the economy as anything else and that Brown should accept that responsibility.

"This is deeply humiliating for Brown and for Labour.

"As Brown's mismanagement of the economy and his fascination with the city are exposed his role in the financial crisis becomes ever clearer.

"Brown's clunking fist is clunking harder and harder on the aspirations of people all across the country.

"Far from being the saviour of the world, Brown is an architect of this current recession, it's his responsibility, but it's us who will be paying the price for his actions for many years to come in the shape of cuts to the Scottish budget.

“Ken Livingstone is part of a growing band in the Labour party that wants to change leader before the general election. Labour's problem is they're stuck with Brown until after the next election. The country's problem is the same."
