SALMOND LEADS STV POLL ON SKY DEBATE

SALMOND LEADS STV POLL ON SKY DEBATE

The STV live poll on this morning’s Sky Scottish debate shows SNP leader
Alex Salmond leading the participants from the three Westminster parties
as 45% of viewers backed Alex Salmond, with only 5% backing Labour, 18%
the Tories and 33% for the Liberal Democrats.

The poll conducted online shows Alex Salmond to be the clear winner in the
debate and confirms the mistake made by the BBC in excluding Scotland’s
alternative views from the UK wide debates.

SNP Westminster Leader Angus Robertson said:

“This instant result shows the SNP is the party championing Scotland’s
interests in Westminster and adds to the case for seeing the SNP debate
alongside the leaders of the UK parties.

“Alex Salmond was the clear winner in this debate, putting Scotland’s case
in a statesmanlike manner while the opposition leaders squabbled and
struggled.

“There has been nothing to choose between the three Westminster leaders in
the other debates, but there is a clear leader here in Scotland.”

The poll at live.stv.tv asked;

With just a few minutes left, who do you think has performed best in this
morning's Scottish leaders' debate?

Alex Salmond 45%

Jim Murphy 5%

Alistair Carmichael 33%

David Mundell 18%
