SALMOND ROUNDS ON PANICKY CAMERON
SALMOND ROUNDS ON PANICKY CAMERON
BALANCED PARLIAMENT HAS HUGE POTENTIAL FOR SCOTLAND
SNP Leader and Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond today rounded on a
rattled David Cameron following his continued scaremongering over the
prospect of a balanced parliament.
Mr Salmond said:
“David Cameron is in a blue funk over the prospects of his election
victory being taken away from him.
“Far from a balanced parliament being something to fear, it must be
something to welcome.
“Minority Government in Scotland over the last three years has been far
more successful than the majority government at Westminster.
"The SNP minority government in Scotland has delivered a council tax
freeze for three years, over 1,000 more police on the streets, cut
prescription charges, led investment in the economy and our renewable
energy industry, passed the world’s leading climate change legislation,
restored the principle of free higher education and created over 18,000
apprenticeship places.
“It is increasingly clear that the more people contemplate a Labour or
Tory victory the less they like what they see.
“No amount of panicky foot stamping from Cameron is going to change the
fact that people are turned off by the prospect of business as usual at
Westminster while Westminster stands in told disrepute.
“That is why the SNP campaign for local and national champions is
resonating around Scotland as voters recognise the huge potential for
Scotland in a balanced parliament.”
