SNP VOTE HOLDS FIRM OVER TV DEBATE

SNP VOTE HOLDS FIRM OVER TV DEBATE

Responding to a poll in the Scotland on Sunday, which shows SNP support
holding firm despite the party's exlcusion from the televised debate SNP
Westminster leader Angus Robertson said:

"This is a strong showing for the SNP at the end of a week when Scotland's
voice was unfairly shut out of the first leaders' debate. Our vote
remained rock solid after the debate which is extraordinary, given the
huge attention lavished on the other parties by the broadcasters.

"We are in second place and this election race in Scotland is a two-horse
race between us and Labour. There are huge opportunities for Scotland in a
balanced Westminster parliament, which is looking ever more likely, and we
will underline some of those opportunities when we launch our manifesto
this week.

"Labour, the Tories and the Liberals are all part of the discredited
Westminster machine, and only a vote for SNP local and national champions
offers an alternative to that machine."
