Commenting on reports in the Sunday Times that the Tories are to advertise
for candidates in magazines such as Hello SNP MSP for Jamie Hepburn said:
"The Tories should have learnt from the Westminster election that it is
not hello, but goodbye that the voters are saying to them.
"Recruiting candidates from a wide range of backgrounds is good for
politics but this is a clear sign of desperation from the Tories.
"Celebrity candidates and supporters did the Tories no good at the last
election and I doubt they'll be getting any exclusives from this
proposal."
