JOYCE RESIGNATION PILES PRESSURE ON BROWN

JOYCE RESIGNATION PILES PRESSURE ON BROWN

Commenting on the resignation of Eric Joyce as PPS to the Defence
Secretary, Westminster SNP Leader and Defence spokesman Angus
Robertson MP said:

"Pressure is mounting on Gordon Brown to treat our armed forces
properly and reassess his failing Afghan strategy.

"Eric Joyce should have resigned a long time ago given the atrocious
treatment our servicemen and women have endured from Labour over a
long period of time.

"Since Labour came to power in 1997 they have cut the number of
military personnel and bases throughout Scotland and his resignation
just highlights that litany of failure."
