MSP WELCOMES SPEEDY PUBLICATION OF BUDGET EQUALITY REPORT

Speaking after a session of the Equal Opportunities Committee where the Communities Minister announced that the first equality report ever to accompany a draft budget will be presented to Committee Members this afternoon, Committee member Dr Bill Wilson said:

“I welcome the Minister’s announcement that the first ever equality report to accompany a draft budget will be presented to Committee members this afternoon.

“This is not only very welcome but also a very quick response to a draft budget that was only made public five days ago - a fact that should be acknowledged as well as appreciated.”
