SECOND POLL CONFIRMS COMMANDING SNP LEAD

SECOND POLL CONFIRMS COMMANDING SNP LEAD

EXCELLENT RESULT IN RUN UP TO WESTMINSTER ELECTION

Analysis of a YouGov poll confirms a commanding lead for the SNP in voting intentions for Westminster, SNP Westminster Leader and Business Convenor Angus Robertson MP said today (Monday).

The Scottish breakdown of the YouGov poll conducted for the Sunday Times newspaper this weekend shows a 7 point lead for the SNP at 35% with Labour trailing at 28%. The Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats poll 19% and 13% respectively.

These figures come as Holyrood Magazine publishes a survey of voting intentions which gives the SNP a 6 point lead for the Westminster election.

Commenting, Mr Robertson said:

“These are really excellent poll ratings for the SNP in the run up to the Westminster election – now less than 9 months away.

“Voters are demonstrating that they respect a party that is prepared to take hard decisions and a party that stands up for protecting the jobs of Scottish workers and investment in Scottish public services.

“Scotland does well when the SNP does well. Only a strong bloc of SNP MP will stand up for Scotland in the face of the cuts agenda both the Conservative and Labour parties will try to inflict.

“SNP success at the General Election is key to taking Scotland forward, and we will continue to make the case for independence and equality as the best future for our nation.”
