REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY 8 NOVEMBER

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY 8 NOVEMBER

At the Cenotaph on Whitehall at 10.25am (Sunday 8 November), Westminster SNP Leader Angus Robertson MP will join the Prime Minister and other Party leaders. He will lay a Scottish Poppy Appeal wreath on behalf of the SNP and Plaid Cymru with the message "Lest we forget" in English, Gaelic and Welsh.

Mr Robertson represents the largest number of service personnel in Scotland with both RAF Kinloss and RAF Lossiemouth in his Moray constituency. The 14 servicemen who died aboard Nimrod XV230 from RAF Kinloss in 2006, was the biggest lost of military lives in a single incident since the Falklands war.

First Minister Alex Salmond will attend the Remembrance Sunday Commemoration Ceremony in Edinburgh at 10.45am. The First Minister will lay a wreath on behalf of the people of Scotland at the Stone of Remembrance and give a reading at a service in St Giles Cathedral.
