TORIES CHALLENGED AGAIN ON MISLEADING POSTERS
TORIES CHALLENGED AGAIN ON MISLEADING POSTERS
SNP WILL CHAMPION SPENDING ON SCOTLAND’S SCHOOLS
MORE NATS MEANS LESS CUTS
On the day the Westminster general election was called the SNP highlighted how the Tories had yet again gaffed with another misleading poster erected in Edinburgh on education – a devolved issue subject to the Holyrood election next year.
This latest gaff follows previous posters which bore the slogan “I’ll cut the deficit, not the NHS” despite the fact that Scotland’s health budget is determined by the Scottish Government.
Commenting on the Tories latest gaff Glasgow East SNP MP John Mason said:
“The tories have just confirmed that their campaign is irrelevant in Scotland.
“David Cameron is either trying to mislead Scottish voters, or he does not understand that education funding is devolved and is not set by the Westminster Government.
“This latest gaffe further illustrates how the phoney war between Labour and the Tories has nothing to offer Scotland. The real fight in this General Election is for Scotland.
“The real issue is protecting Scotland from the cuts planned by the London parties. It is the SNP which is the only party which is standing to protect Scotland’s frontline public services from those cuts. More votes for the SNP means More Nats, and More Nats means Less Cuts.”
