MacNEIL COMMENTS ON TORIES' MANIFESTO MAP BLUNDER
MacNEIL COMMENTS ON TORIES' MANIFESTO MAP BLUNDER
WESTERN ISLES LEFT OUT ALONG WITH SHETLAND & ORKNEY
Commenting on the map in the Tory UK manifesto which shows the UK made up of the words "We're all in this together" but excludes the Western and Northern Isles the SNP candidate for Na h-Eileanan an Iar, Angus MacNeil, said:
"First it was the BBC with their infamous weather maps and now its the Tories.
This is less 'in this together' and more 'except for voters in Scotland'. The Tory campaign is crumbling in Scotland from getting Edinburgh and Aberdeen confused, to their candidates colourful pictures and now their exclusion of Scotland's islands from this election.
"The Tories might not have much of a campaign on these islands, but by ignoring them all together they have illustrated exactly why Scotland needs strong local champions in Westminster."
