SNP DAY OF ACTION ACROSS SCOTLAND

SNP DAY OF ACTION ACROSS SCOTLAND

'MORE NATS MEAN LESS CUTS'

LOCAL CHAMPIONS WILL PROTECT SCOTLAND FROM THATCHER CUTS

SNP Westminster candidates and activists will today (Saturday) deliver a
new campaign card to 250 000 homes across Scotland as part of a nationwide
day of action.

The card (attached) sets out the cuts the London parties are planning for
Scotland's budget with the simple SNP message that More Nats mean Less
Cuts.

Commenting, SNP Campaign Co-ordinator Stewart Hosie MP said:

"Our message is simple - more nats mean less cuts and electing national
champions to protect Scotland's budget has never been more important.

"Labour and the Tories - the Tweedledum and Tweedledee of London politics
- have both confirmed they're planning massive cuts of almost £400m to
Scotland's budget. That's three times the size of the cuts set for the
rest of the UK.

"Labour's Chancellor Alistair Darling gave the game away when he said his
cuts will be 'deeper and tougher' that those inflicted on Scotland by
Margaret Thatcher.

"Taking vital investment out of the Scottish economy as we are beginning
to turn the corner risks plunging us back into reccession. Only SNP MPs
will champion economic recovery.

"Instead of starving frontline services of cash, the UK Government should
be saving £100m by ditching its obscene plan for nuclear weapons.

"On polling day, a vote for the SNP can make the London parties think
again. More votes mean More Nats and More Nats means Less Cuts to Scottish
services."
