SNP LAUNCH NEW VIRAL ON LABOUR'S CUTS DOUBLE WHAMMY

SNP LAUNCH NEW VIRAL ON LABOUR'S CUTS DOUBLE WHAMMY

NI INCREASE & THATCHERITE CUTS THREATEN SCOTLAND'S PUBLIC SERVICES

MORE NATS MEANS LESS LABOUR CUTS

Launching their latest viral poster based on previous London party posters the SNP's election campaign co-ordinator, Stewart Hosie MP, said the poster which echoes a famous campaign poster from 1992 highlighted Labour's "double whammy" attack on public services in Scotland with the impact of the National Insurance increase taking money out of the front line and Alistair Darling's admission of "deeper and tougher" public spending cuts.

Commenting Mr Hosie said:

"Today Kenny MacAskill has shown the potential impact on Scotland's police and fire services who would be forced to find an extra £10m just to pay the wages of their officers and firefighters. Combined with Alistair Darling's admission of 'deeper and tougher' cuts that is a double whammy for Scottish public services.

“Both Labour and the Tories – the Tweedledum and Tweedledee of London politics – are threatening massive cuts to the Scottish budget.

“The Tories are planning a special cut for Scotland despite being funded by Scottish resources while Labour are going for a double whammy, hitting Scotland with a £400m real term budget cut AND a National Insurance policy which will hit front line services.

“That is why Scotland needs champions more than ever before to stand up to the cuts agenda of the London parties.”
