SNP COMMENT ON YOUGOV/GREEN POLL

SNP COMMENT ON YOUGOV/GREEN POLL

Commenting on polling commissioned by the Scottish Green party from Yougov
which shows SNP support increasing from 2007 in the Scottish Parliament
constituency vote , while Labour continue to decline an SNP spokesperson
said:

“It is extremely encouraging that the SNP are maintaining a poll lead,
with our support in the constituency vote up from the 2007 election, while
Labour fall further, which is remarkable. Even more encouraging is the
evidence from the last poll that the SNP’s lead is greater among those who
are certain to vote – reflecting the higher motivation of SNP voters, and
the success of the Scottish Government in supporting jobs and protecting
public services in tough times, faced with Westminster spending cuts.

“And when it comes to an election, and the list vote effectively
determines who becomes First Minister, there is no contest between Alex
Salmond and the invisible Iain Gray.”
