DESELECTIONS and SCANDALS LEAVE LABOUR IN DISARRAY LOCALLY AND NATIONALLY
DESELECTIONS and SCANDALS LEAVE LABOUR IN DISARRAY LOCALLY AND NATIONALLY
Commenting on the scandals engulfing Labour MPs at Westminster and the
news that Anne Moffat’s deselection as MP for East Lothian has been
confirmed by the Labour party’s National Executive Committee, SNP
Westminster leader, Angus Robertson MP said:
“Labour is swamped by scandals in London and deselections in Scotland. It
is only the SNP who are offering local and national champions for Scotland
at the General Election. Increasingly, the Labour Party is in local and
national disarray.
“The public will be rightfully disgusted by these continuing allegations.
Labour, along with the other London parties, have presided over a deep
decline in standards in politics.
“These MPs were returned to parliament to serve their constituents, not
serve themselves.
"And after the debacle we have witnessed in East Lothian, it is only the
SNP who is offering the people of East Lothian a local champion in Andrew
Sharp, whilst all the Labour party offer is local disarray.”
