LABOUR CUTS AGENDA NOW EXPOSED BY FORMER ADVISOR

LABOUR CUTS AGENDA NOW EXPOSED BY FORMER ADVISOR

AS 'MORE NATS, LESS CUTS’ CAMPAIGN GATHERS PACE WHERE DOES THIS LEAVE GRAY?

Labour's claims of the Budget providing more funding for Scotland have
been dealt yet another blow as the Scotsman reports the former party
advisor John McLaren has said Labour's Budget will mean the Scottish block
grant of £35 billion facing a £3bn real terms cut by 2013-14.

This latest report exposing how Labour plans to cut Scottish public
spending follows an analysis showing the budget cuts in Scotland are three
times bigger than that in the UK, Alistair Darling’s admission that
Labour’s cuts will be “deeper” than Margaret Thatcher's and the Institute
for Fiscal Studies (IFS) warning of 25% cuts in government departments
from 2011.

Commenting on the latest reports which undermine Labour MSPs' misleading
claims about spending in Scotland, SNP Westminster Treasury spokesperson
Stewart Hosie MP said:

“Labour's claims of being the party against cuts in frontline services are
now well and truly exposed as deceitful.

"They have now been condemned by their former advisor as well as their own
words. Labour admit their cuts will be worse than Margaret Thatcher's.

"Do they really think people and the press are so stupid that they will
believe the party that took us into war in Iraq on a lie?

"Whatever way this budget is looked at, it only comes to one conclusion:
cuts for Scotland.

“Every day this budget and Labour's claims unravel and the SNP’s campaign
for ‘More Nats, Less Cuts’ gathers credibility and pace. Where does this
all leave Labour in Scotland?”
