OUT OF TOUCH WITH REALITY OF LABOUR'S 'DEEPER' CUTS

Commenting on remarks made by Labour's John Prescott as he came to Edinburgh in a large expensive battle bus, SNP MSP Kenneth Gibson said:

"Does he actually believe people will fall for his dodgy spin? All he did was prove he knows absolutely nothing about Scotland, where we have lower unemployment, higher employment and higher rates of economic activity than in Labour-run England.

"He might also like to go to Monklands or Ayr and discover which party saved their hospital services from closure by the Labour party if he is really concerned about Scottish hospitals.

“People in Scotland won’t be impressed with this buffoonery. They want jobs not flying visits by Two Jags.

“Labour’s Budget delivered just 48 hours ago was hugely damaging for Scotland. The Institute of Fiscal Studies have already confirmed it is a £3bn cut – more than three times bigger than reductions across the UK as a whole.

“Depriving Scotland of this vital stimulus risks a double dip recession and lengthening Labour dole queues.”
