GRAY DRAGGED INTO EAST LOTHIAN CIVIL WAR

GRAY DRAGGED INTO EAST LOTHIAN CIVIL WAR

SNP CANDIDATE COMMENTS ON LATEST REVELATIONS

Commenting on the story in the Sunday Herald today revealing that Labour's
Holyrood leader Iain Gray has been dragged into the row over the
deselection moves against Labour MP Ane Moffat in Mr Gray's own East
Lothian constituency, SNP candidate for East Lothian Andrew Sharp said:

"This is massively embarrassing for Iain Gray and the Labour Party.

"Iain Gray is clearly involved in Labour's East Lothian fueding up to his
neck. If he can't exercise any leadership in his own constituency -
preferring to follow Labour's increasingly embittered warring factions -
no wonder he is unfit for leadership at Scottish level.

"People in Iain Gray's own party are openly speculating about him losing
his Holyrood seat in 2011 - which requires a swing of just 3.5 per cent to
the SNP - and wanting to move in on the Westminster seat.

"Iain Gray may be Labour's leader in the Scottish Parliament, but he can't
even stop his own constituency party engaging in civil war just a stone's
throw away in East Lothian.

"Gray, Moffat and East Lothian Labour have let local people down badly
with this ongoing feuding but come the General Election, they will have a
chance to elect an SNP MP who will put community interests before internal
party politics."
