ONLY TORIES COULD MANAGE SPLIT IN GROUP OF ONE

ONLY TORIES COULD MANAGE SPLIT IN GROUP OF ONE
Responding to reports that David Cameron is preparing to snub David Mundell by refusing to make him Scottish Secretary if the Tories win the UK election, Glasgow East MP John Mason said:
"Only the Scottish Tories could find themselves in the utterly ridiculous position of having a split when they only have one single MP north of the border.
"David Mundell would appear to be an unpopular choice for a UK cabinet post among his party colleagues, but perhaps that isn't surprising since he was the one who penned a memo which criticised the Tory group of MSPs at Holyrood, saying there was a 'simple lack of thinkers' and that Annabel Goldie displayed a 'lack of activity and strategic thought'."
"What this demonstrates more than anything is the increasingly pointless nature of the post of Scottish Secretary and the waste of valuable taxpayers' cash that goes with it. The sooner the office is consigned to the dustbin of history the better."
