HYSLOP JOINS BY-ELECTION CAMPAIGN TRAIL.

SNP MSP and Cabinet Secretary for Education and Lifelong Learning, Fiona
Hyslop, today (Friday) joined SNP by-election candidate David Kerr to tour the new Glasgow North College in Springburn. Commenting, Ms Hyslop said: "Providing the best opportunities across Scotland is a priority for the SNP Government and we are doing everything we can to help learners in Glasgow. "Glasgow alone is receiving around 30 per cent of Scotland’s accelerated and total capital spend for colleges and universities - supporting construction jobs. We are also supporting 1000 apprentices to learn a trade building the Commonswealth Games facilities and working to upgrade the M74. "After decades of Labour neglect, SNP investment in education is making a real difference to Glasgow North East - the newly built Glasgow North College here in the heart of Springburn is testament to that. Mr Kerr added: "Nowhere is Labour's failure more marked than their neglect of education in Glasgow. "While the Scottish Government is doing everything it can to ensure learners across Scotland get the very best education possible, Labour are putting prestige projects before people and letting Glasgow North East down. "Despite a record settlement from the SNP Government, the Labour City Council are closing schools, increasing class sizes and slashing teacher numbers across the constituency. "Labour have been taking people of this constituency for granteed for 74 years. This by-election will give people a chance to say enough is enough. A vote for the SNP is a vote for the education our children deserve."
