SNP CONFERENCE – WE’VE GOT WHAT IT TAKES TO PROTECT SCOTLAND’S INTERESTS

SNP CONFERENCE – WE’VE GOT WHAT IT TAKES TO PROTECT SCOTLAND’S INTERESTS

SNP Conference in Inverness will today (Saturday) focus on the leader’s
speech from Scotland’s First Minister Alex Salmond.

Mr Salmond will address conference in the afternoon.

In the run up to the leader’s speech, conference will show we’ve got what
it takes to protect Scotland’s interests.

Working together between Holyrood, Westminster and local authorities as
well as with the people of Scotland, the SNP is the only party able to
fight for Scotland, to work for Scotland and to protect Scotland’s
interests.

The Sky/YouGov Tracking polls during the Lib Dem, Labour and Tory
conferences showed Scottish voters turning to the SNP as the lack of real
respect for Scotland was exposed.

Looking ahead at the conference agenda, SNP Business convener and
Westminster leader and MP Angus Robertson said:

“In the last two days we have clearly seen the achievements of the SNP in
Government, in Westminster and in local authorities in speaking up for
Scotland driving Scotland’s recovery.

“At the heart of this is our support for the people of Scotland, for
Scottish households and Scotland’s communities.

“Free School meals for our youngest children, taking action to tackle
health problems such as smoking, tackling fuel poverty and enhancing
community health are key debates that focus on protecting Scotland’s
interests at all levels of society.

“Addressing the problems imposed by Westminster within the benefits
system, and campaigning against UK plans to devastate communities with the
proposed closure at Uist, shows the vital role of the SNP in supporting
people across Scotland - working in partnership at Holyrood, Westminster,
and local government.”
