SNP CANDIDATE COMMENDS COUNCIL GROUP WALK OUT
SNP CANDIDATE COMMENDS COUNCIL GROUP WALK OUT
SNP by-election candidate, David Kerr, hailed the action of the SNP Group
in Glasgow council after they walked out in protest at the Lord Provost's
refusal to discuss the scourge of organised crime in Glasgow.
Commenting, Mr Kerr said:
"Labour's failure to address organised crime in the city has been
exposed.
"While the Labour Council run from organised crime, the SNP - both at
council and national level - are tackling the problem head on.
"Not only have the SNP Government put an additional 1044 police officers
on the street and set up a serious organised crime task force, we are
also hitting criminals where it hurts with our Cashback for Communities
scheme which sees ill gotten criminal gains returned to communities.
"And today the SNP group in Glasgow City Council said enough is enough -
organised crime in Glasgow must be tackled.
"A vote for the SNP on November 12 will be a vote against Labour's
complacency and a vote for a brighter, safer future for Glasgow North
East."
