LAST CHANCE TO TELL TRUTH AT CHILCOT

LAST CHANCE TO TELL TRUTH AT CHILCOT

BROWN BESIDE BLAIR ALL THE WAY

Commenting in advance of Gordon Brown’s appearance before the Chilcot
Inquiry tomorrow (Friday), SNP Defence Spokesperson and Westminster Leader
Angus Robertson MP said the session was the last chance for Gordon Brown
to tell the truth about the worse foreign policy disaster in recent times.

It was in an exchange with Angus Robertson at PMQs last month that the
Prime Minister revealed he would give evidence to the inquiry before the
General Election.

Commenting, Mr Robertson said:

"Despite all his efforts to force the Iraq inquiry behind closed doors,
the man who bankrolled the illegal war in Iraq now has to give full
evidence in public.

"Tony Blair led us into the worst foreign policy disaster in modern times
and, as senior figures involved in the run up to the conflict have already
told the Chilcot Inquiry, Gordon Brown was right beside him all the way.

"The people deserve the whole truth about a war fought in their name. With
his evidence to the Chilcot Inquiry, Gordon Brown has one last chance to
tell it."
