KERR WINS FIRST TV BY-ELECTION BOUT

SNP candidate in the Glasgow North East by election David Kerr was the
clear winner of tonight's STV TV debate after the Labour candidate fell
apart on his key note policy.

Commenting after the debate, SNP Campaign Manager Stewart Hosie said:

"David Kerr was the clear winner of this debate. It is David and the SNP
who have got what it takes to bring a fresh start to Glasgow North East.

"The Labour candidate fell apart under questioning on his key note policy
-showing Labour's campaign is nothing more than a false promise to this
constituency.

"David showed that the priorities of Glasgow North East are the priorities
of the SNP - supporting health, education and a fresh start for the
constituency after 74 years of Labour neglect.

"With a date finally set, the SNP will be working hard to win the support
of people across Glasgow North East with real action not Labour's empty
gestures."
