GRAY'S CARPING EXPOSES LABOUR'S GREEN FAILURES

GRAY'S CARPING EXPOSES LABOUR'S GREEN FAILURES

SALTER PRIZE WILL ADVANCE MARINE RENEWABLES

Commenting on the Scottish Labour leader's bizarre attack on the Scottish Government's prize of £10 million to boost green energy SNP MSP Rob Gibson – a member of the Scottish Parliament's Transport & Climate Change Committee – said:
"In his desperation to get coverage to say something, anything, Iain Gray is making himself look ridiculous and simply reminding people of the years of failure under his own party.
"Under the 8 years of a Labour-led Executive - during which Iain Gray was a minister - nothing was done to incentivise Scotland's massive marine renewables potential.
"Labour barely scratched the surface. They were and are split from top to bottom on nuclear, and unable to embrace Scotland's clean, green energy potential.
"It is SNP policies in action ushering in Scotland's green revolution - all the Scottish Labour party can do is carp from the sidelines and remind people of their failure.
"Challenge prizes lead to technological advances and contribute impressive returns on investment. The Scottish Government's commitment to this prize will kick start a worldwide competition to advance marine renewables technology which can not only benefit Scotland but the world."
