MORE NHS STAFF ON THE FRONTLINE WITH SNP GOVERNMENT.

MORE NHS STAFF ON THE FRONTLINE WITH SNP GOVERNMENT.

LABOUR MUST RECOGNISE REAL NHS IMPROVEMENTS.

Dr Ian McKee, SNP MSP for Lothians, has welcomed official figures showing that there are more frontline staff working in the NHS than ever before.

With more doctors, nurses, midwives and dentists working in Scotland’s hospitals and clinics than at any point under the previous administration the announcement embarrasses the Labour party after months of scaremongering over non-existent 'cuts' in the health service.

Dr McKee, a former GP, said;

“These figures show real and effective investment in NHS services under the SNP Government with a record number of frontline staff.

“Putting more workers on the frontline is the key to delivering better standards of healthcare.

“These figures expose Labour’s scare stories for the fiction they really are. They are an embarrassment to Labour as they show it is the SNP which is delivering a better NHS.

“Labour must recognise today that with more nurses, doctors, midwives and dentists the NHS is in a better place than ever before to support people across Scotland.

“Dentists shortages in particular have been a major problem in recent years with the last years of Labour seeing dentists dropping out of the NHS and a shortage of NHS dental services. Now we are seeing real improvements in access to NHS dentists with an extra 157 NHS dentists.

“Today’s figures demonstrate that the SNP is investing more in the NHS than ever before and is working with the NHS to ensure a healthier Scotland.”
