BROWN ON COLLISION COURSE WITH BIGGEST BACKERS.

BROWN ON COLLISION COURSE WITH BIGGEST BACKERS.
SNP Shadow Scotland Office spokesperson, Angus MacNeil MP, has seized on reports that the Labour party is on a “collision course” with its union backers over its handling of Royal Mail and the banking crisis. The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has threatened to withdraw its support for Labour in the forthcoming European elections if it fails to back down over the part-privatisation of the Royal Mail, while GMB leader Paul Kenny has today called on Labour Minister Lord Myners to resign if he knew about Sir Fred Goodwin’s pension arrangements or "even worse" failed to check how much he was going to be paid. Commenting, Mr MacNeil said: “Gordon Brown is on a collision course with some of his party’s biggest backers, and the Labour Party are going to pay the price. ”The CWU and GMB are amongst the most effective campaigning groups and their outspoken attacks underline just how deep in trouble Gordon Brown is. ”It is difficult to imagine how things can get any worse for the prime minister.”
