WELCOME FOR CROSS PARTY SUPPORT TO BLOCK DISABLED PARKING ABUSE.

WELCOME FOR CROSS PARTY SUPPORT TO BLOCK DISABLED PARKING ABUSE.

Glasgow SNP MSP Bob Doris has welcomed the cross-party unity and consensus in the Scottish Parliament today (Thursday) for Labour backbencher Jackie Baillie’s Bill, which will see drivers who misuse disabled parking places fined up to £60.

Commenting Mr Doris said:

"The unity in the chamber today was a great advert for the Scottish Parliament and showed how we can all work together in the common interest.

“This is an issue that has brought consensus across the parties and I hope its successful passing into law will see an end to the abuse of disabled parking spaces by people who should know better.

“It is an essential and necessary requirement considering the abuse of disabled parking spaces and the imposition of these fines will be the only real way to prevent to prevent their misuse.

"This shows how Scotland’s politicians can work together in the common interest in order to improve the quality of the lives of Scotland’s disabled and making the abuse of disabled parking
bays socially unacceptable."
