COMMONS SPEAKER ATTACKS LABOUR OVER OBSESSION WITH SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT.

COMMONS SPEAKER ATTACKS LABOUR OVER OBSESSION WITH SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT.

In the Commons Chamber today (Wednesday), the Speaker was forced to ask the Secretary of State for Scotland and the Labour benches to stop using Scottish Questions as a political platform to attack the SNP Scottish Government.

Commenting afterwards, SNP Shadow Scotland Office spokesperson, Angus MacNeil MP said:

“At a time of recession, it is disappointing that Labour MPs can’t raise their level of debate and find more constructive contributions to make.

“Labour are clearly unnerved by the popularity of SNP Government. Indeed, while the SNP Government has been working to secure support for a budget in the best interests of Scotland, Labour are up to their ears in sleaze allegations over cash for laws.

“Jim Murphy and Labour need to end their obsession with the SNP. The people of Scotland would rather see them following the SNP’s responsible example than being envious and bitter.”
