MILITARY CUTS AN 'INSULT TO SCOTLAND'

MILITARY CUTS AN 'INSULT TO SCOTLAND'

ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF WHY YOU CAN’T TRUST LABOUR

Following reports that Scotland’s 52nd Infantry Brigade is to be axed, Defence Spokesperson and SNP Westminster Leader Angus Robertson has branded the decision as an insult to Scotland.

Angus Robertson MP said:

“This is just another example of Labour ripping the heart out of the military in Scotland. Since Labour came to power in 1997 over 9,500 defence jobs in Scotland have been lost and there has been an underspend in Scotland of £4.3 billion between 2002 and 2007.

“This is yet again a massive insult to those brave Scots who have served, and are currently serving, in the military. They put their lives on the line and are rewarded with nothing but total disregard by the Labour Government in London, who have been failing to properly equip our troops for years.

“This decision will not only see much esteemed history being lost but will also see job losses at Redford Barracks in Edinburgh. The SNP Government is working hard to create employment and support the economy, while Labour once again try to take it away.

“How anyone can trust the Labour Party in this day and age is beyond me, from Iraq to expenses, they have done nothing but deceive the public every chance they get.”
