LABOUR ACCUSED OF DISHONESTY OVER ‘CUT AND PASTE’ CAMPAIGN.
LABOUR ACCUSED OF DISHONESTY OVER ‘CUT AND PASTE’ CAMPAIGN.
POLLING CONFIRMS SNP WINNING TRUST WITH VOTERS
Labour’s European election campaign has been branded dishonest after
it emerged that identical quotes featured in party leaflets praising
Gordon Brown had been attributed to different families living at
opposite ends of the country.
The SNP's European election campaign coordinator, Joe Fitzpatrick MSP,
said Labour had been caught red-handed running a ‘cut and paste
campaign’ after the endorsements of the prime minister, supposedly by
different families in Port Seton, Wester Ross, Central Scotland, and
another in Greater Manchester, all featured the same quote.
Dundee West MSP, Mr Fitzpatrick, said:
"We have come to expect this kind of dishonesty from Labour, and I
think voters will be deeply disappointed by this charade.
”As well as cutting Scotland’s budget, Labour are cutting and pasting
their campaign leaflets too.
"Instead of producing a manifesto which addresses the concerns of the
people of Scotland Labour have gone for a cut and paste campaign.
"The SNP is working hard to win the trust of people in Scotland, and
the latest poll analysis shows that the real action that the Scottish
Government is taking to create and protect thousands of jobs is
winning approval on the doorsteps.
“With the current mess at Westminster people want honesty from
politicians and this leaflet charade underlines exactly what is wrong
with Labour.
"A vote for the SNP this week will send a clear message that people in
Scotland want a Government which puts jobs and communities at the top
of its agenda - not one which slashes Scotland’s budget in the teeth
of a recession.”
