The SNP will continue our campaign for a strong voice in Europe and a
demand an early general election in Dundee tomorrow (Tuesday 26th May).
MEP Alyn Smith and Campaign Convener and Dundee West MSP Joe FitzPatrick
will visit the Translational Medicine Research Collaboration at Ninewells
– which has been backed with over £17 million of investment from the SNP
Scottish Government to maintain Dundee’s lead as a life sciences capital.
Bringing the campaign to Dundee SNP MEP Joe FitzPatrick said;
“Dundee is a world leader in life sciences and the Translational Medicine
Research Collaboration will ensure we remain at the forefront of advances
in medicine – a move that will help protect Scotland’s jobs and build a
sustainable economic future.
“This collaboration has already delivered over 100 jobs and the SNP
Government have created a new life sciences apprenticeship to ensure our
young people are trained in the skills of the future to support this
growing industry.
“In March this year the people of Dundee cast their verdict on Labour with
an overwhelming vote for the SNP at a council by-election and a fresh
start for the city with an SNP administration.
“On June 4th voters across the country can have their say too, with a vote
for a strong voice in Europe and action to shake up the London parties and
force a general election.”
