PRIME MINISTER GORDON BROWN 2009 MAY DAY BLUES.

PRIME MINISTER GORDON BROWN 2009 MAY DAY BLUES.

WORST WEEK OF BROWN’S PREMIERSHIP STARTED WITH SNP POLL BOOST.

SNP Westminster Leader Angus Robertson MP has described the past seven days as ‘the worst of Brown’s beleaguered premiership’ which started with poll figures showing a big poll boost for the SNP last Friday.

Commenting, Mr Robertson said:

“At a time when strong leadership is needed to guide the country through difficult times, Gordon Brown has lost all credibility.

“This must be the worst week of Gordon Brown’s beleaguered premiership. And it started with the fantastic poll results showing the SNP soaring over Labour.

“The Prime Minister has limped from expense scandals and email smears into a week of Parliamentary defeat and open mutiny on the Labour benches.

“Compare this with the Scottish YouGov poll this week showing that Alex Salmond is more popular than all other party leaders combined and double the number of people trusting the SNP Government over the UK Labour government to be on their side. It is clear people have lost faith, even in Mr Brown's supposed heartland.

“With five weeks to go until the European elections, the SNP have what it takes to give the people of Scotland a strong voice in Europe while from the Downing Street bunker Gordon Brown is watching the Labour party fall apart.”
