WISHART REPEATS CALLS FOR DEEPCUT INQUIRY.

WISHART REPEATS CALLS FOR DEEPCUT INQUIRY.

Perth and North Perthshire MP, Pete Wishart, has repeated calls for a public inquiry into the deaths of soldiers who died at the Deepcut barracks following the publication today (Thursday) of the official military Board of Inquiry reports into two of four deaths at the base.

Private James Collinson, 17, from Perth, was found dead with a single gunshot wound while on guard duty at the barracks in 2002.

Mr Wishart said:

“While I welcome the publication of the Board of Inquiry reports far too many questions remain unanswered and we still need a full and independent public inquiry.

“Without an inquiry the anguish of the families is being prolonged, and Ministers must be sensitive to that. It is time we had all the answers on what went on at Deepcut.”
