POLL GIVES SNP POSITIVE START TO CAMPAIGN.

POLL GIVES SNP POSITIVE START TO CAMPAIGN.

The Scottish National Party today pointed to the Scottish sample of the YouGov UK-wide poll in the Sunday Times released yesterday, which shows the SNP with a 12 point lead over Labour for the European elections on 4 June. The poll was conducted from 7-8 May, and the Scottish sample was 224. The results are: European voting intention (Scotland): SNP: 37% Labour: 25% Conservative: 23% Lib Dem: 8% Others: 7% In terms of seats, this would result in: 3 SNP, 2 Lab, 1 Tory, 0 Lib Dems An SNP spokesperson said: “The SNP is the only party offering a strong voice for Scotland in Europe. "While the sample size of this poll is relatively small, the early indications are that our positive message can earn the trust of the people of Scotland in next month’s Euro elections. “Working together as a country and as a Government we’ve got what it takes to protect Scottish jobs and to work for economic recovery. Only an SNP voice in Europe will put Scotland’s economy and Scotland’s industries at the forefront of European debate and see Scottish issues represented in Europe."
